MINDING THE BADGE

WHAT IS MINDING THE BADGE™?

Minding the Badge™ first responder mental health training provides highly relevant curriculum to first responders regarding the most common challenges affecting mental and behavioral health. Developed from decades of evidence based peer-reviewed science and real world success stories, the focus of Minding the Badge™ training is on teaching practical solutions, rather than focusing on awareness of the problems.

Attendees of any Minding the Badge™ training will discover that we spend less time on statistics, charts, and bullet lists of redundant education they have likely already heard elsewhere, and more on strategies and implementations that are not only easy to learn and apply, but are proven to work for those who use them.

Taking an approach of resiliency, our primary goal is one of avoiding mental health issues in the first place, or lessening the impact of them, if they do occur. By seeking to balance the mind, body, and spirit, our methods increase the natural resistance and recovery first responders already possess, if they can simply learn how to unlock these mechanisms.

The Minding the Badge™ curriculum currently include four courses: Mental Health Resiliency, Suicide Outreach, Peer Support, and Emergency Dispatchers, as well as Operation COVRT--a new outreach program for those exposed to the traumatic nature of crimes against children and sex trafficking.
